The name rosemary derives from the Latin name Rosmarinus, which is from "dew" (ros) and "sea" (marinus), or "dew of the sea". Not surprisingly it's a herb that is frequently found growing near the sea.

In Europe Rosemary has a very old reputation for improving memory.

The results of a study suggest that carnosic acid, found in rosemary, may shield the brain from free radicals.

Rosemary essential oil is an excellent brain and nerve tonic. It is often used by students during exam times as it increases concentration and helps in studying efficiently. It stimulates mental activity and is a good remedy for mental fatigue and forgetfulness. Inhaling rosemary oil lifts your spirits immediately. Whenever your brain is tired, inhale rosemary oil to remove boredom and get fresh mental energy.

Usage

The essential oils of rosemary can be inhaled by heating the leaves in a vaporizer. Alternatively, one can make rosemary tea, or spread the aroma throughout your house by using an aroma lamp.

Alleen de naam al: rozemarijn.
Je zou er gelijk enkele van willen hebben.
Ik drink er wekelijks enkele koppen thee van.
Doordat we het kruid uit eigen tuin hebben is de aroma nog sterker.

Ik dacht eerst dat dit niet zo`n groot effect zou hebben.
Maar nadat ik er thee van had gemaakt en gebruikt had merkte ik dat ik veel meer ruimte in me hoofd had en dat alles een stuk meer helder was.
Hierdoor kon ik beter gefocust nadenken op datgene waarmee ik bezig was.

Goeie aanrader wanneer je een helder moment wil hebben b.v. leren, tentamen of een sollicitatiegesprek.

A USP, Universidade de São Paulo comprovou em pesquisas que o alecrim diminui a multiplicação do virus da gripe. BOA NOTÍCIA!!!

O problema é determinar a quantidade correta. Eu recomendo fazer chá e comer generosamente como tempero em tempo de gripe.

Só não acredito que inalar alecrim resolva alguma coisa.

I used it in a vaporizer. The smell of the rosemary is very nice. It sure feels healthy, let's hope it is =)
