Sprout pad

The physical characteristics of coir ensure the best balance between water retention and air porosity. Water and oxygen are the most essential ingredients for young rooting plants, especially for cannabis seeds.

Uso

Step 1
Fill a small saucer with water and soak the sprout pad until it has fully expanded and all the coir is visibly wet.

Step 2
Plant the seed 0,5cm underneath the surface with the tip pointing down. This corresponds with 1½ times the width of the seed. Clones need to be dipped in a cloning nutrient such as clonex before placement in the sprout pad. According to some growers it's better to first let the seeds germinate between two pieces of wet kitchen paper before putting them in the sproud pads

Step 3
Place the sprout pad in a small greenhouse to create an ideal climate for the young seedling. This greenhouse keeps a high humidity and is transparent for sunlight. Seeds will germinate best with a temperature of 22°C. Use a heating pad if necessary and put a moist absorbing medium (perlite or cocos) on the floor of the greenhouse.

Step 4
Depending on the climate and the strain, seeds will germinate within a couple of days and appear on the surface. Remove the eco pellet to a bigger pot when the roots appear at the side and under the pellet. Be careful with the young roots of the plant as they are most fragile in this stage. Roots do not like sunlight or being touched by humans. To transplant you can use any medium you want (soil, cocos, clay, or…). After repotting you can start mixing the water with your favorite nutrients such as bio bizz or hesi.
