We have more news about the status of dried mushrooms in the Netherlands and some interesting new products!

Court verdict in Dutch Magic Mushroom case

As you could have read on our website the verdict on the shroom legal case has been made public at the beginning of March. The suspect has been acquitted of all charges, but no statements have been made about making dried mushrooms legal again in the Netherlands.

Even the vice-chairman of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), a UN organization that is in charge of the abidance of drug agreements, called Lousberg, who is a former employee of the National Health Inspection, declared: “Mushrooms are not on the number one list of the Opium Law, nor are treated mushrooms (i.e. dried mushrooms).

The regulations remain unclear. Fresh mushrooms are allowed, dried ones are not. But it is still the question when a mushroom has to be called fresh or dried, the transition from one state to the other is not defined. Even the Dutch judges don’t know this. It seems like nobody wants to take the risk of burning their fingers on this delicate matter. Up until now no judicial verdicts are clear about why fresh mushrooms are legal and dried mushrooms are not.

Azarius patiently waits for better days to come, and keeps on being amazed by the strange rules in this country.
