Harry Potter star Waylett sentenced

Harry Potter star Waylett sentenced Harry Potter actor Jamie Waylett has apologised to the film's fans after being ordered to undertake unpaid community work as punishment for growing cannabis.

Waylett, 20, who plays Vincent Crabbe in the popular films, admitted in court to growing 10 plants at his mother's home.

The judge told the actor, who marked his birthday on the same day: "Mr Waylett, I accept that the cultivation of this cannabis was on a small scale, and this was not in any way a commercial venture on your part. Nevertheless you used a sophisticated growing system to do so. I give you credit for pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity, your co-operation with police and the fact that you are, until now, a man of good character. I propose to deal with this by imposing a sentence of 120 hours of unpaid work."

Never seen any Harry Potter flick, nor read any of the books. Don't like it, not interested in wizards and trolls and such. This guy looks like the archetypal stoner, though: disgruntled and more than a tad chubby, due to frequently indulging the MJ munchies, no doubt. Good kid.

Some years ago I was working in a bookstore, where my employer was an enthusiastic Christian. He hated the fact that books about 'black magic' (the Harry Potter series) were so popular among children. Now that weed is coming into the picture, it's just getting better and better...

It's just terrible that people punish other people for having fun in their own way(s), and it's injust that this guy gets punished even though he didn't hurt anybody. But if he would've been an unknown citizen, he surely would've had a much bigger punishment.

jail with this guy - 2009-07-28 20:20:08

These are the people that makes children smoke weed and grow weed. A fucker that every kid looks at, in this stupid series of bull shit magic. Kids will think... "If this guy does it, then we can also do it, it must be cool". And after a bunch of kids get to know the sweet taste of shiva, the parents get pissed, the cops get pissed, the government get pissed, and something that should be legal, turns to ilegal just because fuckers like these are not careful. So fumps you fat ass. go to jail. He may have somebody to do the community service for him while he is eating and smoking and keep being stupid.

Something legal becomes illegal? It is already illegal in UK. Thats why this man got sentenced. He is one of the victims of 'the war on drugs'; not one of those who contributed to the start of the 'war on drugs'. He also did not connect his role in a movie about fairytales with growing cannabis.

Fairytales connected to drugs however, have long been existing. From old myths (sometimes evidently connected to drugs) to stories like Alice In Wonderland and Wizard Of Oz, one does not have to judge Harry Potter as the archetype of 'black magick'. Same for occultism. Rather, by depicting a 'witchcraft' with aspects such as psychokinesis it devalues specific other traits witches had such as herbal knowledge.

Uhm signing off, growing hemp in Anno 1404 :>
