Last hour of the magic mushroom

Last hour of the magic mushroom The Dutch press is fully occupied with it: minister Ab Klink of Health wants to ban the magic mushroom this week. He is supported by the parties CDA, VVD and Christian Union. Despite advises of the National Organisation for smartshops, Mayor of Amsterdam Job Cohen and a recent study that concluded that use of magic mushrooms carries very little to no risks.

Time is up for our beloved magic mushrooms. How must we tell our government they've gone too far in gradually removing every bit of freedom that the Dutch nation had?

Problem is, if it's banned the NL, no country will ever permit the sale from now on... which means that except ayahuasca and a few other, no more psychedelic authorized on the wall planet.
"Decent people" mostly consider hallucinogens are like aby other drug, which we all know is not true... while it's undurstandable to consider the sale of heroin a crime, mushrooms are no cause of physical dependance and I believe must people use them with care.
Thing is, "decent people" often make a majority of the voting population.
So, like you the majority bans the right to follow a choice.
But it's also understandable that people in netherlands are fed-up with "drug tourism"... if it was allowed in other countries, the situation would not be the same.

And there if no way to stop the law from being voted: people using hallucinogens are diluted in the world population. A US citizen reaction will have next to no influence on the NL goverment. So, people of the world let's wait and see. NL open-minded population, please ract, and remind your are doing it for the whole planet.

Maybe they'll change their minds...
That's the news this year:(

It was to be expected with the negative position the media took concerning mushroom use. The public opinion is formed by the media, and the politics respond to this.

marcodoom - 2007-10-12 11:57:25

as it happened in ireland and uk, it seems to me that it's a pure political decision, made without any reason nor proof...

hytom - 2007-10-12 12:10:51

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

RaulDuke - 2007-10-12 12:21:51

And we are already harvesting the results. Azarius has increased the price of shrooms with 2 euros. Good on you! The effect of supply and demands in the works!

Jeroen - 2007-10-12 15:27:22

"It was to be expected with the negative position the media took concerning mushroom use. The public opinion is formed by the media, and the politics respond to this."

Yes, nowadays our media sucks. It went exactly the same with LSD. Frightening LSD stories in the newspaper... "man jumped out of skyscraper after using LSD".. I'd say, another idiot less on the planet, but thats just me.

Quote Bill Hicks: How about a positive LSD story, that would be newsworthy. Don't you think? Anybody think that? Just once, to hear a positive LSD story. "Today, a young man on acid, realised that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves... here's Tom with the weather." from e.g. http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Bill_Hicks

Jeroen - 2007-10-12 15:29:43

Yes the price goes up now. I bet sales go rampant now. People will buy it in a craze now because its the last time ever you'll be able to buy psilos legally, and securely. However right before they become illegal it'd be wise to lower the price to get rid of the former harvests.

An Appple Pie. - 2007-10-13 13:03:09

poor world - what have you done to yourself again?
Most people who haven't had a trip on magic mushrooms themself think it is like pink elephants and stuff everywhere...
But we all know that it is NOT that way,
The shrooms can give you a lot, you can get to know what the wold is really like and who things are connected.
I think it is really really sad,
mother nature brought us this winderful gift, and we are supposed to make use of it - with common sense!

Mushroom guerillia! from now on.
lets force olf bene, the pope using shrooms and he'll be on our side!

the chuch would have to accept that MUSSHROMS ARE BIGGER THAN GOD!

RaulDuke - 2007-10-14 02:18:36

Good news doesn't sell that good as bad news. Besides, the papers are only telling the people what the want to hear. It's a crazy world. Some poor gullable guy is drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette while he's watching the news thinking "good riddance of those damned drugs!". Not knowing of course, that the two substances he's using at that time are far more damaging to his health and narrowing his horizon....

RaulDuke - 2007-10-14 02:20:45

The only thing this government has achieved is that it will be finally easier to get some acid. And that people will start to pick their own shrooms, which is far more dangerous!
Good on you, bloody religious fanatics!

Speedy - 2007-10-14 18:31:35

That's to sad....I haven't had the experience to the mushroom land yet. Watch out for the New World Order, is the RFID chip the next trip?

Jeroen - 2007-10-14 20:59:22

Don't forget cigarettes and the drugs they put in our food. The long term effects of those are worse than shrooming twice a year. That is, responsible shrooming. Someone who takes a full 30g mexicans, w/o a babysitter, w/some alcohol or a joint, on some party, while on Prozac or other meds... no... not responsible... I wonder about the details of those specific bad cases of folks in Amsterdam, and the percentage of folks having a bad trip compared to the rest. How many people die due to alcohol yearly anyway? Acid..? Shrooms..?

RaulDuke - 2007-10-16 18:07:03

Yes, it's all about responsibilty. This government doesn't think this country's citizins aren't able to carry any!
In fact, I plee for a ban on kitchen knifes! To many people have fallen because of those terrible things when people are using them!

Fabrice - 2007-10-23 15:22:35

Religion killed more people over the years than drugs will kill over all eternity.

Shroom - 2007-10-26 14:45:38

God damn!!! Who's with me to slaughter those cock suckn christian motherfuckers. I want to piss on their torned bodyparts an fill their heads with shit to throw them on sunday throu the church windows.
Hell ya I'm realy pissed!!!

Zeb - 2007-11-11 19:11:00

Seriously, this makes me so sad. Shrooms are illegal in my country, but I still manage to use them... and hey, noone can die on shrooms alone, and it doesn't hurt people like heavier drugs... Ban alcohol for the next step then. And caffeine, and nicotine...

Let us have our mushroom fun!
