Exact same experience here Tim, I tried out the Azarius salvia when I won one of their contests, there was a salvia joint inside the surprise package. It was not what I had read about and expected, more like a real heavy stone and vision sortof like you just woke up, as you described.

Perhaps it is also dependent on your personality, if you're very spiritual you might feel like travelling through the universe, a more scientific person such as myself will be more temped to lean back and simple analyse the effects manifesting.

The issue you guys are having is that you need to smoke it from a pipe that can handle high heat. Salvia vaporizes at a very high temp and without a butane torch, your chances of feeling the salvia are very slim. Try that and the world will seem a little different.

i tried purple my first time, which is two up from yellow
i must say it was extremely intense and scary at the time.
i wasnt in touch w/ my senses and the outside world
i wasnt even me, i lost sense of self and was part of something infinite
i think it's critical to use a butane lighter to release the pyscho active effects of salvia
and hold the smoke as long as possible
it'll only take one hit.

first off yes a butane torch lighter works but that doesnt really matter if you buy the leaves it takes alot to get the sensation and thats where a butane torch come into play. if you buy the salvia extract in the powder form sprinkle a good amount on ur weed so it cover the top and you cant see ur weed. hit the whole thing in one hit!! hold it in for 30 seconds. you will feel it... next time read the box

It is no so easy to get the full effect of salvia, but if you make what is called "breakthrough", in most cases, you will AWAKE in completly different world, you will lost any touch with this reality here, and the strange thing is that you will feel or someone from this other world eventually will tell you that the world you are in, is the real, and you have awoken from that dream called reality... it may scare you very much, you must be careful, there must be a sitter with you who will help you return to our world, and who will take care of you when you are in this state. When people are in "breakthrough" state, from outside they look completly shizuo, or like bodys without souls, it may be scary for the sitter too, so be careful who you choose, and let he/she have had at least one experience with salvia breakthrough. Do not try to get there if you are unsure what are you doing. When I first make a breakthrough through the boundaries of reality, when i returned back to planet earth, i realised that this was not a psychedelic experience, this was paranormal experience, and travel through time and space. I realised that i'm playing with some very powerful magic tool, like a kid which is playing with a real gun. The tool of a shamen, and you'd better be more careful when you play with things like space and time.

It's very much like the matrix one scene, when neo take the red pill and wakes in the real reality... it's very much the same. And yes, most times you may feel physical pain all over your body when you are going to that another space, and when you are returning too. Its not very fun. Its not fun at all... but its interesting as hell... And the curiosity and willing for the secrets of life are making me to try this again.

If you live in michigan go to purple east and get the salvia zone infinity its blue, and is one step higher than the purple, which was the highest intensity until infinity came out. Pack up a bowl in a steamroller or water bong...take a rip, a big one, and make sure you hold it for 30 seconds at least...You will leave this world and almost expirience dimensia...Salvia isnt dependent on your surroundings you'll mostly get the same effect everytime...And salvia dosnt work for some people so just hope it works for you.

No, no, no... it has nothing to do with a pipe that handles high heat. It has to do with using a water bong, and smoking the extract. Not the dried leaves. Try 20x extrct and hit it hard from a water bong, and you will feel it. I got mine from a smoke shop and the potency was very high. It's not the shop, it's just the extract that works the best. My advice: don't use a dry pipe. You will find the effects to be a waste of your money.

You did not smoke it right. I have had years of experiences with salvia, and even the most resilient of salvia users will get a good trip off Salvia Zone's red. The infinity, is insanely strong, almost unnecesarily so. The trick with salvinorin a absorption is keeping it super hot, and smoking it quick, get it in your lungs as soon as possible and hold it there as long as you can, keeping the lighter, perferably a hotter burning torch type, on the material while inhaling. 1/3 gram of infinity, contains 40mg of salvinorin a. That should ruin your day for all of like five minutes.

Hey guys, dont want to scare anyone but i had my first time trying salvia three days ago. i purchased the blue experimental level at a local gas station with a friend. having never tried Salvia i did not take it seriously. i have taken a wide arrange of hallucinagens before but none like this. no longer than 30 seconds after i relased the smoke i had an out of body experience that terrified me and my sitter. Basically, i traveled to a white space, nothing around. no floors walls or cielings. a voice preceded to tell me that the earth and universe were an experiment that was being terminated. and i was the only one that somehow slipped through a binding and was not terminated yet. i will not go on. but i have never panicked in my entire life and this scared the shit out of me. All in all make sure that you are ready for this stuff and do take it seriously... i found out the hard way and now i have a somewhat morbid fear of doing any hallucanagen again.

i tried salvia with a bong too. it does not work with a bong. i find that using a butane torch lighter with a bowl works the best for me with the bowl about 2/3 of the way filled. but i'm excessive, half or maybe a bit less will do the trick.

also, salvia is different for everyone. if you enjoy using a bong to get the experience, so be it. but no matter what way you do it you gotta make sure you use a torch lighter. a regular lighter just doesn't cut it normally. i haven't tried the Salvia Zone brand yet. I've just tried the Purple Sticky brand. But i think i may try salviazone next.

Duh! You used the yellow, one of the weakest sorts, and like marijauna some people won't feel a thing until after one or two experiences. Very few people no more than 10% of the Earth's population can't get anything of salvia. Plus it seems you were smoking it less than properly. A steam roller, not a bong is the best way to go. Also salvia needs to be heated at high levels so you want a pencil torch or some other type of small torch device to heat it. Usually you can get away with a regular pipe, but you chose the yellow code. I might also add that yellow is usually not that expensive. I'm talking 15 bucks for 1/2 gram which is equal to five experiences. You were shopping at the wrong place, and rememeber yellow is for deep self exploration red is for visionary quest. Now there's even purple which is the beyond and blue which is infinity. Not trying to be harsh. I'm just being helpful.

I personally think salviazone is extremely over priced for what they offer. I would rather take two or three hits from a 15X that is sold on ebay as "premo mazateca silver" salvia for 25$ for 3.5 grams than one hit of infinity which is 85$ a gram. It could just be me but for the effect it's about the same and it costs waaay less. Water apparatus and butane torch= man's best friend.

I tried smoking several different online brands, with no avail. Then I got serious, went up to the local head shop, got an alien bong and some Salvia zone red. I wasn't taking it seriously, when I repacked the bowl twice. Sure I felt the pressure on the sides of my head, but I really wanted a trip, so I proceeding to smoke up about a half of gram of the red. I haven't done it since because it scared me so much. I tried purple sticky stuff 5x the first time and only caught a slight peek into a trip. It cost me 20 for a 1/2 gram. I went to another smoke shop and bought Salvia zone Purple. If any of you have an old coke spoon or can visualize that amount I use 3 of them after I have already caught a buzz off of MJ. I disconnect from reality and space seems to fold. I have rapidly learned to direct my experience (I didn't think I was capable nor was it possible to do this) and prolong experiences. I extended an orgasm while masturbating to five minutes. I was watching four different adult clips and I felt I was really having sex with them and I could control each of them and their pleasure. I don't know about doing this with another person while having sex because you go inward with this stuff...It wouldn't seem you could deal with someone else as you were tripping. use salvia extract. i've tried 10x and 20x both with the same results.
salvinorin a must be heated to 400 degrees F to be active.
i recommend packing up a little water pipe and taking a butane TORCH LIGHTER to it while inhaling. and don't take the flame off until you're done hitting it. hold it in as long as you can and you're set.

i've felt the barrier between this reality and another, and i've had my chair cushion patterns take over my whole apartment. once i was not only sitting in a chair at my friends house, but also i was outside. in a body i've never been in before.

salvia is more of a spiritual tool than it is a recreational drug, and should be regarded as such.

I bought 3 1/2 gram packages of the yellow for $45 from a head shop. Me and 3 other friends tried it. We were drinking a few beers[2 or 3] before we smoked it. We did it 2 times. We packed it into my friends pipe and used a bic lighter, followed the instructions, took the biggest rips we could[and we are champions!], and held for 30 seconds. The 1st time, maybe 45 seconds to a minute and a half after inhaling the smoke[starting the moment it was drawn into the lungs to hold] I experienced what was probably the most intense trip of my life. I didn't get very many visuals this time, but wow, definitely a very very powerful psychedelic experience. I totally lost conceot of reality and looking around at my friends around me was kinda scary yet amusing at the same time. My girlfriend was wearing a hat and somehow totally reminded me of a turtle, wtf! The downfall is that this experience didn't last more than a minute and a half/2 minutes. One other friend experienced uncontrollable laughter for about a minute, all the while tripping balls. The other two felt some mild stoning effects i think, but for the most part it didn't work. Some of the experienced was ruined by the fact that we were passing it around as a bowl, and would take and hold in hits while tripping thinking it would do something. Well it barely did shit, and we learned to just do one big rip at a time.

The 2nd time we did it, which was probably a half hour or 45 minutes later, maybe more idk, the same two friends barely felt the effects. My other friend and I were tripping balls HARD. Forget not seeing many visuals the 1st time, This time I was in a tunnel made of, i think, millions of small red and white checkers spinning around me and much of the room we were in. It kinda felt like being launched out of this world in some way or another. It was AMAZING. I've done shrooms, acid, and DXM, and this was the most intense psychedelic experience I've felt by far. I have a bunch left, and plan on doing it again, and maybe buy some darker colors in hopes that it can last longer. I definitely plan on trying it by myself as to minimize distractions and really get into the experience and let my mind wander.

Well I've been reading these and yes salvia is not to messed with. I tried it the first time in my life a few days ago and I had x60 extract. About 12 seconds after my hit I was completely taken over. The reason for me writing this message is to hopefully help out anyone who is about to try it for the first time. The thing I can not stress enough is to do this with people you trust entirely! The second is to do this in the place where you feel most comfortable! If some friends say, "Hey lets go try it in the woods", say no. Like me, there could be a good chance you will not be comfortable. After taking a hit lay down quickly and CLOSE YOUR EYES! Hold it in as long as possible. Do not try to fight it, you can not. One thing that is very scary is losing complete control of oneself, and if you are not ready to completely give into salvia don't try it because it will be a very negative experience. Hope I helped! ok well my boyfriend, our 2 friends and i tried it also... my boyfriend and his friends have done multiple drugs in their lifetime, but have all either decided to stop or had to stop because of other reasons... i've never even tried any kind of drug... anyway, we were trying to find an alternate, legal way to get the "high" feeling, and thats when we heard about salvia. we bought it at a head shop and the first time my boyfriend and one of his friends tried it, they said that it didnt get them high, but it made them feel really good. but it only lasted about 10-15 minutes at the most. the next time we bought some, we got purple (the only kind available in our area) and about 50x i think it was, maybe lower, but it was really expensive and pretty strong. our other friend tried it and he said he had an out-of-body experience, like life was only a second long and then it just got thrown against a wall, of course, like you, we dont understand it, but he said it was really scary and he never wanted to hear about salvia again! when i finally got the nerve to try some, i was fine for about 5 minutes, but i felt really good, like everyone else said, like waking up from a really good dream- quite happy. but then, it felt like my body was getting ripped in half, and i could see our friends getting ripped in half. when my boyfriend stood up, i could see him ripping too, and i screamed. after about 10 minutes, it was so intense, i began crying because the feeling wouldnt go away, and became afraid of our other (larger...) friend...

this was INTENSE stuff!!!!! ...keep in mind too, that we used legal herbal mixtures to sprinkle this on top of. not pot or anything. so even if you're not a lightweight or if you've experimented with other things before, take caution and dont go for the really high doses...

and as far as lighters, we just used a regular one that was used for ciggs... and we burned it in a glass pipe too, so im not sure if that really has anything to do with the effects of it, cuz i def. felt the effects of it!!!

try the "salvia zone" shit. it comes in different levels. i've tried the red and green zone. no matter which type u try u will definitely feel it no matter how hard of a drug user u think u are. smoke it in a pipe make sure u have a gauze (screen, filter) because it should be a very fine dark green powder and u don't wanna inhale the powder. don't use a bong or joint or any of that. hold it in for as long as possible (it taste like shit but hold it in anyways). about 10 seconds after u exhale (not even that) you'll feel it. you'll know if it's workin or not. the last time i had it everything around me dissapeared it's hard to even describe. everyone whose tried it around me seem to have different experiences but still very intense (they were so freaked the fuck out they didn't wanna have it again. for all u sceptics out there. and believe me i'm one of em. this shit works if u don't believe me try it yourself. i've found the salvia marked "salvia zone" works best. don't fuck around with the leaf shit. it should be a dark green powder.

I just tried it today (dec. 4 2008) for the first time after watching videos on youtube and becoming intrigued. I had never heard of it before, but only had to drive half a mile down the street to buy some. It was Salvia Zone brand and it was coded Blue - Infinity, which is the strongest one. I had a lot of experience with mushrooms so I wasn't afraid to go for the top level the first time. All I can say is WHOA, I was NOT READY for what followed!

I brought it home, turned on some soothing music, put a pinch in my bong, sat by myself on my couch, inhaled and held it in. I let it out after about 30 seconds when my body started to buzz and I was like, ooooh, that's neat! And then I was gone. It was like my consciousness had been pushed into a different part of my brain where it had never been before. I had no access to short or long term memories, no sense of where I was, when I was, what I was doing, or even WHAT I was. I seriously didn't know I was a person. Reality became something different, something fractal that I was moving upward and outward through and desperately trying (and failing) to cling to. Each moment layered on top of the previous moment like turning pages in a book, creating a visual representation of the passage of time that I had never dreamed or even imagined before. I'm at a real loss to describe it. I had a strong sense of my consciousness not being something that just appeared out of nowhere when I was born, but something that was inherited, something that had sprung out of or budded off of every consciousness of every one of my ancestors before me, going back even before they were human. And I heard them all. There's really no words to describe something like this. I felt like I was moving through alternate parallel realities, trying desperately to hold onto one before the next would wash over me. Finally I managed to move my arm, knocking over the bong and spilling it on the coffee table. I didn't really know or care what I had just done, but having affecting something in that particular reality helped me cling to it. With a whoosh I emerged in a reality that was only slightly different than the one I had left. Before I smoked, I had turned on my stereo and started some soothing music. When I re-emerged into this reality, there was no music playing and the stereo was off, even though I know I didn't move off the couch for my entire trip. I know it sounds crazy but I feel like I crossed a barrier into a slightly parallel world where that was the only difference; in this reality I now live in, I never turned on the stereo before tripping. Weird, huh? That whole part I describe transpired in the space of about 3 minutes, but it felt like an hour or so.

Nothing in my past experiences with mushrooms or my single experience with LSD prepared me for blue infinity (40x?) salvia. This isn't a drug, it's a portal. And please, if you're ready to take the journey, be at home when you blast off and respect its mystic aspects. This isn't a party drug. And seriously, this isn't weed, you can't pull this shit off in the car or in public. I'm so glad I was alone, because when I re-emerged into my final reality and became a person again, I was very scared, very hot, very sweaty, and I could not have dealt with anyone else at the time. In fact, it wasn't until a minute or so later that I realized I was alone. The presences had felt so real. Were they real? I was scared I would never go back to normal, but over the course of the next five minutes I was able to stand up, walk to the kitchen and open a window and breath the cold winter air. It felt so good. Five minutes after that, I was basically normal again. But changed.

It has been several hours since my trip ended. I will certainly journey through the salvia portal again, but not until I've slept this experience off and given myself time to process and come to terms with it. I will say it's left me in a better place. The big thing I was angry about before my trip (a fight I had gotten in recently) now seems so small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I can't wait to apologize for my role in it and make amends. My mood is certainly elevated, and my god, that was one hell of a roller coaster ride through the universe...or multiverse.

Doesn't matter about the pipe. It's the lighter that matters. It has to be butane torch type. Has to be.

I tried the Salvia Zone Red as my first experience with a friend and a sitter, and used a bowl and a regular lighter. We got an acid like body high, real giggley, and very minor hinted at visuals, so I was thinking, hey this is cool, I can dig this.

So when I got home, I went out into my garage studio and thought ahh no big deal and hit it again using a torch lighter, while listening to opera singer by cake. (music HELPS!!!!) The minute I let the big hit out AFTER HOLDING FOR AT LEAST 30 SECONDS!!! plant like tentacles started growing out of my speakers like vines rapidly in time with the music and wrapped around my arms legs and head like in a movie and picked me up, and started spinning me end over end backwards. It was fucking KUH-RAZY. I had to turn the music off, because I didn't want my wife to come out there and try to have a lucid conversation with me because she didn't know i was doing anything like that.
I was able to shut my eyes, open them and see that I could move my arm off of the arm of my chair,it was like breaking vines, I felt physical pain of being tied down, BUT, I was able to lift my arm and prove it was just a hallucination.

Before you do this, get a sitter who will not laugh at you. Have him/her get a notepad and write down everything you say, and try to get you to describe what you see.

Before you drift off, imagine a shield around you, a positive energy force shield that will not let anything negative through, as soon as you go to blow it out, say to your self this is a drug. Then remember your shield as it starts and let shit flow around you.

Use this for understanding, NOT just to get high, that's disrespectful of the plant's power and what will eventually cause it to get banned everywhere.

Video yourself so you can go back and see what profound things you said, but generally you will say stuff quiet or mumble, that's why it's better to have a sitter chronicling it.
Don't post it on youtube or the internet, that's what's bringing so much bad attention to Salvia.

I had heard about salvia and thought it was porbably just some herb that gave you a mild buzz and that only goofy kids were fucking around with it. I have to take a drug test in a few weeks and wanted to get a legal high so I purchased some yellow from a local head shop. I used a small pipe and a butane torch, loaded the pipe with the recommended amount and held it as long as possible. Holy fucking cow, I am 61, grew up in the 60's and done the best LSD, but I wasn't prepared for the experience I had. I was in a type of fabric or weave made of large yellow squares. There was no up or down and when I tried to move the fabric would roll like an ocean wave. I had the distinct feeling there were other entities present who were laughing. I also started laughing hysterically and had one hell of a ride. I came back to my room feeling kind of sweaty and goofy, but happy. I thought wow this is going to be fun. I turned off the lights, lit a candle, put on some psychic tunes and got naked. I reloaded the pipe with a bigger hit and lit up. This time I went to the most frightening place I have ever ventured. It wa like my world, our everyday reality started turning in grains of sand and being sucked into another dimension. When my body started to dematerialize I freaked and started grabbing and clawing at my world, trying to hold on. It was like everything was being pulled into the music. Again, I was aware of other beings who were encouraging me to let go and join them, but I kept fighting against the pull. When I came back, I was in my bed under the covers with a pair of jeans on BACKWARDS. In the hallucination I remember thinking, I don't know where I'm going, but I'm not going there naked. I now have a deep respect for salvia and will do it again, only this time with a sitter and I will not fight the trip. I strongly urge people to also respect salvia as a powerful gateway to another world. It definately isn't recreational. I need to get my spiritual side in order and not be fearful.

I just tried Purple Zone today, first experience with salvia ever.
I picked it up at the local shop, along with a $2 pipe, and used a Bic lighter to light it.
Let me tell you, the lighter worked JUST FINE!!
I took only a very small hit, about 1/2 the size of your small fingernail, and I'm a big guy, around 240lbs.
I don't know if size matters, but I was also not ready for what was about to happen.
In less than a minute, this stuff hit me hard as hell.
I almost didn't know it was happening, but then I had the common sense to find my recliner and sit down.
I was also alone, which I would now not suggest for a first time user.
Basically, it was a very strong trip.
I felt like the room was folding in on itself by breaking down into small sections, or grids, as some others have mentioned.
My body also did the same, particularly my arms, which were breaking into small pieces.
Very weird.
At the same time, it felt as if there were other people there with me, trying to help me, but I was alone.
At one point, I stood up to walk to my bathroom, and that slightly brought me back to reality, but I sat back down again, and the trip continued, although slightly less intense.
After a few more minutes, only the floor was moving, and thru most of the experience, I was pretty aware that I was tripping, so I really didn't freak out.
However, it was a slightly scary experience, considering I was not at all able to control what i was feeling.
Personally, I'd rather smoke a J and deal with the legal ramifications.
Salvia doesn't appeal to me because it is, in my opinion, very tough to just chill on.
On top of that, you have to keep hitting it to get the effects.
Maybe I should have started with a less potent level, but I won't be doing it again.

For newbees, like I was, start with the weaker strains, and definitely have a sitter, as it is suggested.
DO NOT think you can do this stuff while driving around, because you WILL end up in an accident!
As others have said, make sure it is someplace you feel safe and comfortable, with people you trust, and use it one person at a time, in case one of you has a tough time with it.
Realistically, I would not suggest it to anybody, but we are all adults, so think about it first.

i tried silva zone purple today for the first time(1st salvia ever). i smoked it out of a bong and i was tripin soooo bad, i cant even remember what my trip was about. i dont like, stickin with the all mighty sticky icky

There is a method involved in smoking salvia.
I advise you do not smoke it in a water bong, just use a regular pipe with a metal screen.
Torch lighters are recommended, but everytime I smoked salvia I used a regular BIC lighter.
You HAVE to make sure you heat the leaves up hot enough, if you don't heat it hot enough or breath it in quick enough; the vapour created by the released salvinorin A could evaporate into the air before it even reaches your mouth.
Another thing, with pot you can just hold it a few seconds and exhale.
But with salvia, you MUST hold it in for as long as you can.
In my experience, I can hold in just one toke of salvia long enough that I begin to feel the effects BEFORE I even exhale.
I used 10x Salvia. It was from a company called "Purple sticky salvia", they measure salvinorin A levels in something called "Atomix".
So I got a pack of of purple sticky salvia labelled "40 atomi X Salvia".
My first impression was that this was 40x Salvia, but this was not true.
It was 10x. With purple sticky salvia brand you must take the number on the package and divide it by 20 to get your actual strength.

Me and a couple friends tried a gram of the red zone stuff on some back road. My one friend didn't feel nothin but didnt hold it in right. Me and my other friend just could not stop laughing for about 5 minutes and i felt like the car was 30 ft long and the ditchs were right next to me. Later on my friend said he tried it again without me and he said that he thought the walls were closing in on him and the other one thought there were spiders everywhere. I definitely want to try it again to see what it will do..
